Leah Antovel is UF PRSSA’s President. She is a senior public relations major and event management minor from Long Island, New York. She has been involved in PRSSA since her sophomore year and has served as Vice President of Programming, a PRSSA Diplomat and a Bateman Ambassador.
Outside of PRSSA, Leah is a PR and Events Member at Her Campus. Over the summer, she interned at the Page Society in New York City, a professional association for senior PR executives, where she project managed several professional development initiatives. She previously interned at Irving Publications.
This year, Leah’s goals for the organization include enhancing the PR knowledge of members through professional development and other opportunities, maintaining and expanding the chapter and emphasizing diversity and inclusions while creating a better sense of community within the organization.

Brittany Higginbotham, Vice President
Brittany is a third-year public relations major interested in travel/tourism public relations or working in the television and film industry. She is an account supervisor for the new business team at Alpha PRoductions and also works for the Institute for Public Relations, a non-profit public relations research foundation housed in the CJC.
Outside of the CJC she helps lead a team of student ambassadors, the Involvement Team, for the University of Florida’s Student Activities and Involvement Department as personnel captain. Brittany likes to spend her free time outdoors, listening to the Armchair Expert Podcast and watching comedy specials on Netflix.
Richard Forbes, Treasurer
Richard Forbes is a senior majoring in Public Relations with a minor in Business Administration. As Treasurer, he aspires to fill the year with exciting, educational and cost-effective events by researching and connecting with local businesses, UF students, faculty and alumni. His position includes managing dues payments, updating the website, sending emails and coordinating fundraisers.
He has experience in photography, digital design and blogging. He has interned as a Web Content writer for OnPoint Global and creates engaging ad content for the UF Department of Geography. This past summer, he studied abroad in Sydney, Australia, and is ready for more! The Ft. Lauderdale native’s interests include traveling, cuisine — especially chocolate — and sports. In the future, he’d like to work at a travel PR agency!

Amanda Carr, VP of Public Relations
Amanda Carr is a junior public relations major from West Palm Beach, Florida. As Vice President of Public Relations, she connects UF PRSSA to its members and the wider UF community through branding, social media, blog posts, and more. Her experience includes interning for Axia PR and Prisma Imaging, working as a student PR specialist for UF Information Technology, and a Street Team writer for the Institute For Public Relations. She also writes for her personal blog (www.liveloveamandarae.com) and creates content for her YouTube channel (Amanda Rae Carr).
After graduation she aims to live in a big city and work in an agency for a few years before moving into corporate PR. Her interests include hiking, traveling, scooting to downtown coffee shops and going to cycling classes as many times a week she can.

Micayla Yates, VP of Programming
Micayla Yates is a junior from Ocala, Florida, pursuing a major in public relations with a minor in Spanish. She has been involved with UF PRSSA since the fall of her sophomore year as a UF PRSSA Ambassador and member of the Social Squad. She also serves as the Outreach Chair for the UF Women’s Club Flag Football team.
Last year, she interned as a blog writer for aha Pure Foods, a vegan soup company based in Gainesville. Micayla also spent the past summer studying abroad in Australia with the UF College of Journalism and Communications.
Things that make Micayla happy include getting rowdy at Gator Men’s Basketball games, curling up with a good book, drinking sweet tea and traveling.

Macayla Bricarell, VP of Chapter Development
Macayla Bricarell is a junior public relations student from Winter Garden, Florida, and is the Vice President of Chapter Development for UF PRSSA. Her position includes maintaining relationships with other organizations and managing community service projects. She entered UF through PaCE and hopes to help make it easier for PaCE students to get involved here at UF PRSSA. Outside of PRSSA she works with Off Campus Life as a student ambassador to help students feel more at home while at UF and in the greater Gainesville area. She currently works in digital marketing with the College of Education at UF and with the events rental department at the Florida Museum. She plans on working in event focused PR after graduation.
When she is off-campus, Macayla can often be found hunting for music in Downtown Gainesville, exploring Florida's cities or working from the booths at Maude’s.

Luisianna Cardoza, VP of Diversity, Inclusion, and Opportunity
Luisianna Cardoza is a sophomore public relations major from Miami, FL minoring in graphic design and event management. As Vice President of Diversity, Inclusion, and Opportunity, her main priority is to build a better sense of community within our chapter by strengthening the mentorship program and coordinating more interactive and diverse events. Other responsibilities she holds include informing members about all the PRSSA benefits (i.e. internships, scholarships, etc.) and ethics and diversity initiatives.
At UF she has been involved in Frank Ambassadors, Association of Media Professionals, and Venezuelan Student Association. During the summer she interned at The Dana Agency, specializing in culinary and hospitality PR in Miami.
She is passionate about cooking, traveling to new places, spontaneous dancing, and Twitter memes. In the future, she hopes to work in the hospitality, lifestyle, and/or beauty PR fields.
Taylor Hadden, Alpha PRoductions Managing Director
Taylor Hadden is the Managing Director of Alpha PRoductions. She is a fourth-year public relations major with a minor in event management. Since beginning as an account executive, her professional capabilities and visions for Alpha have grown. As the previous director of operations, she helped to pitch new business, attend client meetings, write contracts and supervise client teams. By building these relationships and proficiencies, she feels more prepared than ever to lead this agency into a new era of excellence!
When she’s not at the J-School, she is probably at concert or music festival. In addition to her involvement with Alpha PRoductions, she also work for MAVY at The Agency and intern at Pitch Publicity. This year, she intends to focus on firm expansion, new-business ventures and improving agency culture. She also aims to strengthen the relationship between Alpha PRoductions and PRSSA. Through these achievements, Alpha will continue to build upon its legacy of “Innovation. Quality. Results.”
Carolyn Lok, National VP of Digital Communications
Carolyn Lok, 2019-2020 PRSSA National vice president of digital communications, is a junior at the University of Florida. She is majoring in public relations with a minor in leadership and a business concentration. Lok immediately got involved on a local level, serving as UF PRSSA’s vice president of public relations her sophomore year. In her role, she was in charge of managing her chapter’s social media accounts, designing promotional graphics and leading a team of contributing writers and photographers.
Aside from PRSSA, Lok also serves as one of the media managers at The Agency at UF, a strategic communications firm housed within UF’s College of Journalism and Communications. She also works for the college as its communications assistant where she helps with social media, graphic design and video production. Lok has also held various internship positions, the most recent being a PR intern for the Embassy of Cambodia in D.C. After graduation, she hopes to work in the entertainment or fashion industry using her skills and experience to contribute to the continuous effort of diversity and inclusion.
When she’s not at the CJC, you can find her fist-pumping at local concerts, indulging in every one of Michael Cera’s filmography or on her personal conquest to find the best iced vanilla latte.
